Our sanitation team, together with our motivated local plumbers and our dedicated project manager, has successfully completed another sanitation project at Anandakuti Vidyapeeth School — the “Monkey School” in Kathmandu.

We call it the “Monkey School” because it’s located just 850 metres from Swayambhu Mahachaitya, the ancient Buddhist stupa and UNESCO World Heritage Site better known as the Monkey Temple.

Together, we’ve built 17 modern toilets, providing the school’s 100 students and their teachers with clean, safe, and reliable sanitation. The school has struggled with low enrollment, and one of the reasons identified was the lack of proper sanitation facilities, especially for girls. With these new toilets in place, the school can now offer a healthier and more dignified learning environment as it works toward increasing enrollment to 450 students over the next three years. The new facilities will be able to support that growth.

This project is another example of what can be achieved by working closely with local communities and trusted partners to create lasting change where it’s needed most.
