Karna Sunuwar and Nabin Tamang in Switzerland

Time flies and another year will soon be over! Despite the constant hectic pace, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to tell our foundation followers about the time our two employees from Nepal, Karna and Nabin, spent in Switzerland.

For the two young plumbers from Nepal, their time in Switzerland was extremely instructive and impressive. They were involved in two pipe renovations in an inhabited state and also got to know the dark side of Switzerland’s conscientiousness. Namely: the end of the day is only when everyone has access to a toilet and water again.

They also benefited enormously in terms of organization. On their return, they organized their own material store in the same way as they had got to know it during their stay in Switzerland.

Of course, the program not only included further training, but also a visit to a legendary football match (FC Basel vs FC Zurich), in which the home team unfortunately lost despite the support of the two boys.

We were also invited to the Geberit company in Jona, where a very instructive program awaited them. They were particularly impressed that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Albert Baehny, and the CEO, Christian Buhl, took time during lunch to meet them and ask them about their impressions of Switzerland and the sanitary work.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Geberit International AG once again for the invitation and the excellent organization, which made this day an unforgettable experience for both of them.

Last weekend, we wanted to show Karna and Nabin Switzerland’s 4000-metre peaks with pride. And even though our mountains end where they begin in Nepal in terms of altitude, this weekend was unforgettable for both of them.

It was with a heavy heart that Nabin and Karna had to start their return journey from Basel to Zurich and then back home at 6:00 a.m. on October 14. It was an instructive time for them – and for us too – and we hope that the Swiss authorities will grant their wish and allow them to travel to Switzerland again soon.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors and our main sponsor, Geberit AG.
