42.195 km for sanitary facilities for children in Nepal.
On June 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM, the charity marathon of the L’Unique Foundation will start in front of the L’Unique House of Rock in Basel. The initiator of the project is doctor and osteopath Fabio Gallacchi, who will run the full 42.195 kilometres for a good cause. At the same time, the marathon will also take place in Kathmandu, where children and young people will join Basel in setting an example of solidarity.
With the charity marathon, the L’Unique Foundation is raising funds for the construction of sanitary facilities for children in Nepal, thereby promoting better hygiene conditions and an improved quality of life on site. Everyone can support the campaign easily with a freely chosen contribution per kilometre or a fixed donation amount – conveniently via bank transfer or TWINT.
One Marathon. Two Worlds. One Goal.
At the same time as the charity marathon in Basel, a charity run will also take place in Kathmandu. A total of 25 children and young people between the ages of 8 and 20 will participate – both girls and boys. All of them are pupils or students of the Anandakuti Vidyapeeth School in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, where the local team of the L’Unique Foundation is currently building sanitary facilities for the children and young people.
The young participants will run distances between 5 and 10 kilometres, adjusted to their age, and will thereby become part of the project that aims to sustainably improve their future. The joint marathon in Basel and Kathmandu connects two worlds through solidarity, movement, and concrete support on the ground.
How You Can contribute
You can support the charity marathon with a binding contribution per kilometre or with a freely chosen fixed donation amount. For the kilometre contribution, you can choose CHF 1, CHF 2, or CHF 5 per kilometre run. As the marathon will be completed in full over 42.195 km, this results in a fixed total amount that applies regardless of the individual running performance and is paid in advance.
Alternatively, you can also donate a freely chosen amount.
Payment can easily be made via bank transfer, TWINT, or PayPal. To help us correctly assign your donation, we kindly ask you to complete the short registration form afterwards with your name, email address, donated amount, and chosen payment method. In doing so, you directly help build sanitary facilities for children and young people in Nepal.

The Event
The L’Unique House of Rock is both the starting and finishing point of the charity marathon and will be open to all visitors throughout the entire event. Friends, families, supporters, and everyone interested are warmly invited to cheer on the marathon runners along the route and at the finish area and to be part of this special day together.
From 8:30 AM until long after the finish line has been crossed, people will gather at L’Unique to celebrate, follow the race with excitement, and raise a glass together. With coffee, drinks, and delicious food, visitors can also follow the marathon live on the map. A unique atmosphere is guaranteed – together we celebrate a marathon that moves more than just kilometres.
Run for a Good Cause
Anyone who would like to run in the charity marathon must register by May 31st. In addition to the full marathon distance of 42.195 km, it is also possible to register for partial distances of 10 km, 20 km, or 30 km. This is intended to allow as many runners as possible to take part.
All registered participants are required to attend the mandatory briefing on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the L’Unique House of Rock. Registration is necessary for the planning and organisation of the event.
Participation is at your own responsibility. Insurance and accident coverage are the responsibility of the participants. The L’Unique Foundation and the L’Unique House of Rock exclude any liability.
We are especially looking forward to welcoming as many additional runners as possible to join the final 195 metres to the finish line together from approximately 1:15 PM onwards. No registration is required for this – simply come along, join the run, and cross the finish line together.
