Return to Nepal – New Projects and Future Planning

It almost feels like coming home. We are back in Nepal for team meetings, new projects, future planning – and, of course, to roll up our sleeves and get to work.

We began our stay with a team meeting to exchange updates with our Nepali crew about recently completed independent projects as well as upcoming initiatives. We also discussed the future direction of the L’Unique Foundation, particularly the expansion of our activities in western Nepal with the establishment of our own warehouse in Surkhet. These remote regions are largely underserved, and a centrally located warehouse will allow us to work more efficiently on site and significantly reduce material transport costs. Unfortunately, we must remain patient, as the bureaucratic hurdles for importing the generously sponsored materials from Geberit are considerable. However, we are confident that they will arrive in Surkhet in the coming months.

Following the meeting, the families and children of our local team joined us for a warm and relaxed dinner together.

In addition to expanding the sanitary facilities at the NAG Children’s Home – work we are carrying out together with the team – we visited the completed Sano Sansar Kindergarten project, realised in collaboration with Earth C-Air. It was deeply moving to be welcomed so warmly by the children and teachers in their kindergarten, and very encouraging to see that our sanitary facilities are being carefully maintained to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.

On this occasion, just a few kilometres away, we also visited the Shree Balbalika Sudhar Adharbhut Bidhyalaya school together with Raj Bhattarai, who coordinates local projects for Bruno Jelk / Earth C-Air. In April, we will construct sanitary facilities there for 84 students, 12 teachers, and 2 school staff members as part of another collaboration with Earth C-Air.

New projects are also already in the pipeline outside of Kathmandu and will be implemented in the coming months using materials from our warehouse in Kathmandu.

Once again, it becomes clear: this work on the ground is only possible thanks to your generous donations. For this, we are deeply grateful.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors and our main sponsor, Geberit AG.
