Sanitary facilities for Nabin’s home village

Our long-standing employee Nabin Kumar Tamang asked us during our visit to Nepal in March whether it would be possible to build toilet facilities for the local school in Rampur, the village he comes from.

Since this school, with over 250 students and 17 teachers, had no sanitary facilities, we considered the project meaningful and agreed to his request.

For our employee Nabin, the construction of these sanitary facilities means greater respect in his village – something we consider important, as in Nepal, craftsmen belong to the lowest caste and can gain a different social standing through such work.

A standing that should also receive more recognition here. Only in this way can we make the “impossible – possible”: that even in 20 years, there will still be enough skilled workers in our own “lower castes” – gastronomy, care, and artisan professions.

With great dedication and passion, our crew completed the entire project – including the construction of the building and the septic tank – in just 20 days.

The deep gratitude of the schoolchildren, teachers, and villagers shows us how important and valuable this commitment is for Rampur.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors and our main sponsor, Geberit AG.
