With each project, our foundation becomes a little more established and word is getting around in Nepal that we offer help with the construction and renovation of sanitary facilities.
A few weeks ago, Gerold Biner asked us if we could help Earth C-Air to renovate the sanitary facilities at the Sano Sansar (Small World) school.
As schools are the most important foundation for the future of a country and we are happy to support Swiss foundations and aid organisations in Nepal, we immediately agreed.
So we started this small but important school project with 69 pupils and 5 teachers in Sipa Pokhare in the Sindhupalchok district. Within 12 days, our local team was able to construct three toilets for Sano Sansar (two stand-up toilets and one sit-down toilet for disabled children and young people) as well as a shower and a washbasin.
We are firmly convinced that the cooperation of Swiss foundations in Nepal brings much more to the country and the people than if each foundation tries to work alone – utilising synergies for the benefit of the children!
This is the reason why we are always ready to help in such situations – which is of course only possible thanks to the great support of Geberit International AG.
And speaking of cooperation and mutual support:
We asked Bruno Jelk and Gerold Biner if they would give a talk in Basel about their work as mountain rescuers in Nepal and Switzerland. Both immediately said yes!At the moment, we are still finalising the dates, but anyone interested can already look forward to seeing the well-known rescue duo live at the L’Unique House of Rock in Basel soon.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors and our main sponsor, Geberit AG.
