The first L’Unique Foundation Charity Marathon – “Run For The Cause – For Nepal” has come to an end, and we look back with deep gratitude on a day that exceeded all our expectations.

Thanks to your generous support, we have raised more than CHF 35,000 for our humanitarian projects in Nepal. This outstanding result demonstrates what can be achieved when many people come together, take responsibility, and support a meaningful cause.

In Basel, 15 runners took part in the event, with three of them completing the full marathon distance. One of the most touching moments of the day came during the final 195 metres, when nearly 50 people spontaneously joined in to run the last lap together. It was a wonderful reminder that every single contribution makes a difference.

At the very same time, on the other side of the world, 26 children from the Anandakuti Vidyapeeth School, better known as the “Monkey School”, ran alongside us in Kathmandu. It is at this very school that our local sanitation team is currently constructing new sanitary facilities, made possible through the generosity of our supporters. Seeing the children run for their own school and become part of this special day was a truly moving experience.

“Run For The Cause – For Nepal” clearly demonstrated that solidarity knows no borders. People in Switzerland and children in Nepal were united by one common purpose: to help provide children with access to safe and dignified sanitation facilities.
